This is my country, Portugal!
Portugal is a small country situated in the furthest west location of Europe, making up the Iberian Peninsula alongside with Spain, Gibraltar, Andorra and a small part of the French territory.
Its west and south edges are limited by the Atlantic ocean and the north and east are limited by Spain.
We have around 10 374 822 habitants estimated and Portugal's biggest city is the capital, Lisbon. Even though its name "Portugal" comes from the second biggest one, Porto. City which was named in latin-celtic as Portus Cale.
Portugal is one of the oldest nations in the World. Before it became this country the Phoenicians passed by, and the Greek, the romans, the vandals, the swabians, the visigoths and the Arabs. Still a country in development, it has one of the highest human development index. It got the 19º place qualification in life quality in 2005 and it is considered to be one of the most globalized and peaceful nations in the world.
