How Olives Are produced

On September we took a small trip to the olive camps of Vasilis and the factory responsible for preparing olives for the market. For me this was an opportunity to have an insight of what it takes to get the olives from the olive trees to the jars we see at the supermarkets. As well as all the entities involved in these procedures and the amount of work taken to do so.

Street mARKET OF nEA mOUDANIA

This was my first visit to the street market of Nea Moudania. Full of bargains and people ready to make you smile, just like these couple who offered me some cherries in return of a photograph!

Summer Festival - 23'rd of June

For my surprise when arriving home late in the evening I realise that a festival is taking place next to the fishermem museum. Although I wasn't able to get much information some people told me this festival was a celebration of the summer solestice. With many traditional dances, some bone fires and a free entry to a small museum at the same place.

Portuguese Movie Night

In July we, the volunteers alongside with the help of our coordinators organized the Iberian Movie nights where we presented in each night a spanish and a Portuguese national movie. With some traditonal food - Pastéis de nata, pataniscas, sardine, tremoços - and music in the mixture - Fado.

Kilkis - Youth Exchange

One of the best things about being abroad doing an EVS: Not only meeting the locals but as well meeting the proud definition of Portuguese people outside our country!

In the beggining of the month of December I had my first presentation to foreign language students about my home country but above all about "what is an Evs" and my experiece as a volunteer taking part of one. The first presentation of what I hope becomes a chain a many more.
